Hi, my name is Sandra Lira, I'm a sculptor from Middletown, Connecticut and I feel very strongly that every creative should understand their legal rights.
To help make that happen, I was awarded a grant from the Middletown Commission on the Arts and am collaborating with the Society of Connecticut Sculptors to present the Legal Toolbox for Artists, a talk and Q&A on legal issues for visual artists, makers, and craftspeople.
This event is designed to be useful to creatives at every stage, whether they’re just starting out or have been working professionally for years. Understanding your legal rights and having a few essential tools can help you navigate the business side of being a creative and protect your creative work from unauthorized reproduction. And just as importantly, this event is a chance to meet, share ideas, and connect with other creatives in our community.
Please join us for an event full of empowering information, tasty food, and great conversation with fellow creatives. Plus, every attendee will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Blick Art Materials gift card!
