The Sentinel has proven to be a timeless design and a perennial favorite. I sculpted the original Sentinel in polymer clay in the smallest size. Two larger sizes followed, which I sculpted in an oil-based clay. 3D scanning them was not an option - I wanted them to be similar, but to have their own personalities.

I personally cast my smaller designs in Hydrocal, but for the larger Sentinels, I found an excellent casting contractor in the Midwest. Each sentinel is individually hand-cast by skilled craftspeople from multiple-piece molds in an indoor/outdoor resin. Resin is applied to the separate mold pieces and are then reinforced with fiberglass for strength and durability. The pieces are then put back together, all the seams are ground down until smooth and then a weatherproof finish is applied. This is a very labor-intensive process, but the end result is worth it!
